Born in Zambia and raised in Zimbabwe, Annie Holmes studied literature in South Africa and then worked as a teacher, book editor and documentary producer in Zimbabwe and for a few years as a television producer in South Africa before enrolling in a fiction writing programme in California in 2001. After living in the US and UK, she has now moved to Portugal.
